FIT: I usually wear a size 7 in shoes, and tend to buy a 7.5 in boots for a little extra wiggle room. I bought the size 38 which is akin to a 7-7.5. The fit is fine, but I just want to mention that the 38 fits me exactly like a 7.5, and not a 7, if that helps anyone. My feet are difficult to fit because I have a narrow heel, but can't wear a narrow size because of bunions. If I tried to wear these boots with just tights, I think my foot would slide around, but they work fine with thick, cushioned winter socks.EVERYTHING ELSE: I could be wrong, but I don't think this boot is the current year's model. It is sleeker and better-looking than some of the Pajar boots I have tried on in stores this year. The dark gray with the faux fur black lining goes perfectly with my many gray and black pants. In my opinion, the height is just perfect. High enough to look sleek, but not so high that I get overheated the minute I step indoors. In fact, I found I was able to keep them on for several hours indoors, despite my tendency to get overheated. The laces glide through the loops; the lining is super soft; the platform is the perfect height; the overall look is very fashionable. I admit we haven't had much snow or ice yet here in New York city, so they haven't been put through a true test yet, but, not surprisingly, they do great in the frigid temperatures we've been having. The newer versions of this boot have ice grippers that are very clever because they can be opened or closed with little effort. If I lived further north, I probably would have opted for that, and it would be a plus here in NYC, but I would have had to pay a lot more and I preferred not to. I also prefer the look of this boot to the models with the ice grippers. I may come to regret that as I progress into old age, as I think these boots will be around for a long time. The quality is top notch.
